- 1. What type of lenses do you supply?
- We supply a range of hand painted, tinted or stamp printed lenses according to you requirements and budget.
- 2. What's the difference between hand painted and stamp printed lenses?
- Hand painted contact lenses are premium theatrical contact lenses whereas the latter lenses are merely stamped by a machine.
- 3. What information do you need in order to manufacture and design the lenses?
- We advise a full eye examination and contact lens fitting to determine whether the wearers eyes are suitable for contact lens wear. From then on all we require is the concept of the character – eg. the role they are playing what they are going to look like.
- 4. Can I have my prescription incorporated into the lenses?
- Yes, however this does depend on the prescription required and may incur additional costs.
- 5. Can I have lenses without a corrective prescription?
- Yes, we also supply uncorrected (plano) contact lenses.
- 6. How is the vision?
- You may experience some tunnel vision when wearing the lenses.
- 7. Can you see out of a blind eye, dead eye or stiches (no vision) lenses?
- No, if the pupil is covered you will not be able to see.
- 8. Do you carry sample lenses?
- We do not carry sample lenses as they are all made to order specific to the wearer, however we have thousands of images of previous lenses which we have designed as reference.
- 9. What about custom designs?
- Our artists can custom design just about anything. If you email us an image we can give you a quote.
- 10. If I would like minor changes made to the lenses after they arrive is this possible?
- Some minor changes are possible depending on what you are after. There is no additional charge if this is required. This is only possible within two weeks of receiving the lenses.
- 11. How quickly can you provide a pair of lenses?
- We usually quote two weeks, however we have been known to get lenses ready in two days. There are however additional charges associated with rush orders.
- 12. How long do theatrical lenses last?
- Lenses can last up to one year, but this is dependant on how well you care for them, and how many times you wear them.
- 13. What solution do you recommend for lens care?
- We have found the only solution which does not degrade the paint on the lenses and also give gives excellent cleaning properties is 'Quattro Multipurpose Solution'.
- 14. Can the same set of lenses be used on multiple people?
- No – this is against all normal hygiene practices. It is also against the law in the UK.
